Iberostar embraces digitalization with EISI HOTEL to improve its operations

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has taken a step forward in the digitalization of its operations with the implementation of EISI HOTEL in more than 30 hotels in Spain and Portugal, as stated by Gerard Pasan, CIO Office Director of Iberostar Group, in the interview we conducted as part of the International Fitur Fair. Transformation of the maintenance area


Gerard Pasan highlighted the benefits of this implementation, emphasizing how digitalization has enabled the centralization of information and improved communication between teams. "With EISI HOTEL, we have managed to reduce response times and increase operational efficiency," explained Gerard Pasan, noting that the platform has been key in the transformation of the maintenance area in Iberostar hotels.

Sustainability and operational impact


The project has been a complete success. In 2024, it was possible to reach all hotels in Spain and Portugal, achieving 100% coverage in preventive maintenance. This has represented a significant change in an area that traditionally had not been fully digitized. "One of the main challenges was convincing the maintenance teams of the importance of having a corporate platform that allows them to organize their tasks, receive automatic alerts, and access a data history to better plan their work," he added.


The implementation of EISI HOTEL has not only optimized incident resolution but also allowed Iberostar to reduce paper usage, thus supporting its approach to reduce waste and eliminate landfill waste. The digitalization of processes contributes to a more waste-free operation, aligned with the company's circular economy goals. "Previously, many processes were carried out with walkie-talkies and paper, which made task planning and follow-up difficult. Now, with EISI HOTEL, employees have all the information accessible in a single tool, enabling them to work more efficiently," said Gerard Pasan.


One of the main benefits that EISI HOTEL will bring is the ability to analyze real-time data to make decisions based on accurate information. This facilitates the planning of preventive maintenance and allows the anticipation of potential issues before they affect the hotel's operations, according to Pasan's statements, adding that the impact on time savings has been key to the project's implementation.
